I went out today evening to buy some supplies and a fried chicken take-away .. To celebrate the successful completion of my third mid-semester tests .. So i'm looking at this pretty big billboard for Jockey .. There's a handsome model lying across on a bed in tidy-whities .. And then i think, who is this ad catering to?

When women browse through a lingerie catalog, we're looking at the undergarment advertised .. We keenly observe what sort of support it would provide .. Whether its available only in cotton or do they have a line in silk, lace, etc .. We look at the price; the higher it is, the happier we are .. But, of course if you're a not-rich college student and you're going through a La Perla catalog, the $350+ tags will bring ur moods down .. But still you wonder how wonderful La Perla must be (i do) ..

Now let's take men .. Only for about the past 2 decades, the metro-sexual attitude is beginning to get to men .. I'm not thrilled about it but its nice to date a man who takes just about more than 5 mins when he's getting ready for a date (Yes, ka .. you :P ) .. Real worry is when they join you for mani-pedis ..

Anyways, coming back to my chosen topic for today, I was genuinely puzzled how the ad was gonna make more men buy their underwear .. Given how majority of India's or at least, Tanjore's male demographic is straight, i really do not understand how the handsome model can do the job he is intended for .. When we women see a beautiful model wearing something, we almost always want it cos we somehow delude ourselves into believing that we too would look as pretty as the model if we bought n wore the dress .. But i'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way for men ..

So what i wanna know is if that billboard would make a man want to buy that underwear.

As Dumb as This May Sound

Hi .. First day of third sem .. Very vetti in college .. Now i feel i should've continued the bloody Maverick and Mildcube series a little longer .. Wasn't it fun .. I thought so ..
The prof who handles thermal engg course for us seems one hell of a bloke ! .. Not a doubt ... He's an iitm btech alumni ! .. MS from univ of NY .. Very interesting and accommodating .. Only problem is, he may be religious .. he is obviously spiritual .. Don't know what apathyists like me should do when he asks us to pray in class !

Hmmm .. I should start taking college n course work a bit seriously now .. First year was a very lazy passing .. And honestly, the weather is not too bad here .. What more i got a new dressing table at my room :D .. Mom bought it for me ..

I also think that this sem is going to be different .. In almost every way possible .. Hopefully it's fulfilling by december .. lol .. I have another forty-five minutes now .. No idea what to do .. Can't keep typing crap like this anymore .. Will blog soon !

Feel like a millionaire

Feeling a little bad that i haven't blogged for sometime now :(

Last weekend, i wanted buy parmesan .. it was priced at 480 bucks for thin thin slice .. No .. I'm not that rich .. Still, i looked at the package and it was made in kodaikanal !! .. Man .. so much for some aged cheese from a hill station in a tropical, non-cheese eating country ? .. no thanks !

Mosquitoes commit suicide in My wash basin

Ya .. I woke up today .. i reluctantly thrust my toothbrush into my mouth and i see about a dozen mosquitoes lying in my basin .. all dead .. Man .. what should've caused those guys to commit suicide .. Anyways .. who cares
And the other day, msk n me saw some pigeons mating !! .. (i say "some" and not "two" since pigeons are not governed by fidelity laws .. are they luckier ? .. hmmm ) .. Cha .. There are no lizards in my room .. One of my favorite pastimes is seeing them doing it .. sigh ..
Actually, i'm quite happy today .. my col has declared hols one-on-one .. leaving tom for home .. i heard TN is doing this as a sign of i-dont-know for the unrest in Sri Lanka .. There are three assignments yet to be completed .. but then who gives a shit ? .. thanks TN !

I was watching "Feast Bazar Year" on Discovery T&L .. They were showing Damascus .. And what a lay .. erm .. i mean, what a spread .. They sell croc skins .. turtle backs .. all reptile shit like they were carrots and beans .. wonder how (il)legal it is .. lol

And talking of feasts, the past two days have been a banquet time at my home .. lol .. what ever i like .. how much ever i want of it :D .. wonderful .. na ? .. Anyways, mom tried in vain, in fact failed miserably in trying to persuade me to extend my holidays .. lol .. so ll be leaving this afternoon most prolly :) ..

Btw i'm deeply disappointed with the boys in my class .. some 61 in number (boys alone) .. they are yet to start giving proxies !! cmon guys .. buck up .. And yet to meet a blogger from sastra .. :( .. Such a big passion of mine .. and no one to share it with .. haaa ...

And hey .. i got to swap phones with msk this week .. a samsung F700 .. what a grand beauty .. lol .. Now i'm bent on buying a touch phone (when i get to, that is :| ) .. The F700 is not even out in India .. I'm looking to test-use an iphone (is that possible ?!!) .. let's see ..

18 Days Hence

Hell-O .. Eighteen days into my colleging and things are fine. Now, I'm home for the weekend and ppl are harrowing me with "How is college ???" .. I really wanna say "frickin vetti and kick-ass time-pass" .. But since that may not be accepted by the supernatural mortals who labour to ask me how is college, i need to end their divine curiosity and interest with an "Ok :) "

Hmmm .. But heyy i have no inhibitions with you people.. Know why ? .. Cos you actually don't give a damn .. And are most prolly are reading cos you're so jobless .. Now now .. One solid improvement i have made in the past two weeks has been my telugu (no dw .. it's still pathetic) .. thanks to the people i hang around with .. all brainees ;) .. Rahul, Teja, Abhi, Swetha, Madhukur, Shubhoday, Jayadev .. nice people ..

And worst of worst .. me in some latent lunatic trance agreed to be the rep for girls .. with Shubhoday maning the boys CR thingy .. talk of staying low-profile ..

Meanwhile, the seniors are being unbelievably nice .. trying to get us into clubs they manage .. Surprisingly enough, the art form clubs have auditions and crap .. but the supposedly-more intensive tech clubs have no induction procedures .. they take in the entire herd .. yes, herd :| ..

1. Just in case you wonder what makes my mobile phone stupid (or even you're not) .. It's not stupid neither is its owner !! .. The problem is, i basicallly hate noise of any kind which includes my phone ringing or beeping .. And unconditionally, my phone is stalled into an indefinite silent mode ..

TRANCE

I was never much more happy listening to music, if not for trance music i'd long be dead :P
Trance is one genre not many people i know like / know of .. as one friend said "some arbit words strung together in tune to the music ..."which is what trance is after all .. For me, life makes little to no sense most of the time .. (the how, what, why thingy ).. for one simple reason: i dont want it to. i'm fine with all of life's intricacies and to be happy, i dont need to unwrap or rather dis-entangle all the complexities.
Have you seen how small kids babble? making no sense whatsoever .. or do they? may be they do .. or they dont .. but they're enjoying it. And the what still makes it sane is the fact that it hurts no one at all.
Life may not be only about Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Sash!, Moby, Robert Miles. Still ..
